A company that was granted $2 million in tax incentives if it located here has chosen Mooresville to be the home of its new headquarters, saying it will create 367 jobs.
Corvid Technologies LLC will build a 100,000-square foot headquarters building on a 10-acre tract of land near Langtree Road, just east of I-77, the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corporation announced early Tuesday afternoon.
The investment is expected to be $28.9 million. Previously, economic development officials had said the company, which had not been identified, would create jobs with salaries averaging about $100,000 if it chose Mooresville.
Corvid provides physics-based engineering solutions for the defense, automotive, aircraft and biomedical industries and has been operating in Iredell County since 2004. The company supports ongoing projects and customers varying from motorsports, U.S. Olympic teams to the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, the MSIEDC said.
Corvid has 145 employees with 75 percent of them holding advanced degrees. Corvid employs staff at offices in Virginia, Alabama, California and Hawaii.
