Krispy Kreme chooses Charlotte’s South End for new corp site


An up-fit permit has been filed on behalf of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. as the site of its future Charlotte corporate operations.

The permit is for a space at 2116 Hawkins St. has been filed by Anne Goldman with the city of Charlotte Planning Department, officials said Tuesday. Goldman is Krispy Kreme’s senior director for global real estate and construction development.

Company spokeswoman Cassandra Williams said Tuesday the site “will be our new address in Charlotte.”

Krispy Kreme confirmed Dec. 7 its future requires having a presence in Charlotte and London, while shrinking its Winston-Salem workforce.

“As we announced in December, we will maintain our global headquarters in Winston-Salem while creating new work spaces that reflect our ambition, including new offices in Charlotte and London this year.” Williams said.

Williams said “we do not have any further information to share at this time” when asked how many employees will be at the site, how much space it is taking or when the company expects to move in to the space.  Read more…
