Leaders will vote Wednesday night whether to scrap a $2.3 million study to bring light rail to Lake Norman.

Transportation leaders originally hoped the Red Line could use the Norfolk-Southern line that runs through Lake Norman. Since Norfolk-Southern has said that plan won’t work, CATS is now looking for another place to build the line, which would run from uptown Charlotte through Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson.

project with his vote Wednesday night.

Aneralla sits on the Metropolitan Transit Commission and he hopes to kill further work on the project with his vote Wednesday night.
