CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Airport officials have given the “all clear” following a security scare Monday morning at Charlotte Douglas International.
The airport tweeted around 6 a.m. that all TSA checkpoints were closed due to a security inspection. Five minutes later, the airport tweeted an update saying the checkpoints were back open.
Channel 9 reporter Mark Barber was at the airport and said the lobby and checkpoints lines were packed with travelers.
Passengers told him that agents were searching for a man with a bag but TSA officials have not responded to Channel 9’s inquiries.
Officials are asking flyers to arrive early because of the inspection as well as weather delays across the country.
